Switching Stories: Dan Goldthorp

Up and down the country, businesses large and small are taking the opportunity to help themselves to some great offers, courtesy of Business Banking Switch. Here, one of them shares their Switching Story.

Meet Dan Goldthorp

North Star Editing Ltd. is the company of TV video editor Dan Goldthorp. It has put together a wide range of well-known TV programmes. Everything from celebrity chefs to top-rated reality shows.

What made you choose to switch?

When Dan was first contacted about Business Banking Switch, he had “no particular interest” in changing banks.

But investigating the options changed his mind.

“Idle curiosity led me online.” he said. “The first thing that struck me was the offer, the incentive to switch, which just seemed incredibly generous.”

Why did you choose the offer you did?

“In terms of switching I wasn’t interested in anything like rates of interest.”

“The only thing in switching that I really wanted to make sure of was that, if I did switch, that I would go somewhere with a good app.”

Dan was able to identify a bank to fit his needs. He visited a branch and they helped him with his application. He said they “were fantastic.”

How did you find the switching process?

After choosing a new business bank, Dan thought the switch itself would be complex. The reality was quite different.

“I expected the switching process to be a lot more complicated. I expected that I would have to jump through hoops.”

“Despite my initial concerns it was utterly painless,” he said. “It was strangely easy.”

Any final thoughts?

“Three weeks on I’ve got a nice, healthy financial reward. I’m with another bank that’s just as good, with a fantastic app (that) does everything I want.

And actually the journey, from there to here, was incredibly smooth and almost unnoticeable.

I’d do it again in a blink.”
